Cancer Screenings:
Conducted a total of 1,278,218 breast and cervical cancer screenings across 6 counties, contributing to early detection and intervention.
Additionally, performed 1,756 prostate cancer screenings in the same 6 counties, addressing a critical need for men's health.
Colorectal Cancer (CRC) Screenings and Referrals:
Successfully completed 345 CRC screenings, identifying and referring 76 cases for early treatment, thereby improving prognosis and outcomes.
Identification and Assistance with Oral Cancers:
Detected and provided full assistance to 9 cases of oral cancers, ensuring timely intervention and support for affected individuals.
Perineal Tears Identification and Assistance:
Identified and assisted in the treatment of 12 cases of unrepaired or poorly repaired perineal tears, addressing a crucial yet often overlooked aspect of women's health.
Hepatitis B Testing and Screening:
Screened 130 patients for hepatitis B, contributing to the prevention and management of this infectious disease within the community.
Treatment of Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia (CIN):
Successfully treated 613 cases of CIN2 and CIN3 using cryotherapy, providing effective interventions for pre-cancerous cervical lesions.
LEEP Procedures for Advanced CIN Cases:
Completed LEEP procedures for 108 cases of advanced CIN 3 (>75%), further enhancing the success rate of treatment and reducing the risk of cervical cancer.
Survivor Support and Patient Navigation:
Assisted 74 survivors through early detection and treatment referrals via patient navigators, ensuring ongoing support and care for cancer survivors.
Mass Screening and Treatment Efforts:
Treated 10,000 cases identified during mass screenings, demonstrating a commitment to addressing immediate health needs within the community.
Contraceptive Options and Blood Donation Support:
Provided assistance to 464 women with contraceptive options during screening camps, alongside facilitating over 2000 blood donations during events, promoting overall health and well-being.
Educational Initiatives and Outreach:
Conducted over 50,000 breast self-examinations and distributed cancer information materials, reaching over 5 million individuals through various platforms including social media, brochures, and Facebook.
Professional Training and Capacity Building:
Comprehensive training provided to 17 clinicians on clinical colposcopy and cervical pathology, enhancing healthcare capacity and expertise in cancer screening and management.
Challenges and Needs:
Identified challenges include a massive deficiency of funding to cover critical regions, high shipping costs for medical devices, lack of coordination from local governments, and a shortage of trained screening teams and quality medical equipment.
